Vibe: Equestrian elegance, antiques, historic hotels, garden walks, and the kind of quiet luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Perfect for: Women in the Midlands & Upstate South Carolina who love classic Southern style, heirloom interiors, and pretending they summer in the English countryside (but make it South Carolina).
Aiken is one of those towns that feels like it exists in a slightly different time — in the best way. Horse-drawn carriages, historic homes, manicured gardens, and boutiques that look like they were curated by a very chic Southern grandmother.
It’s understated. It’s elegant. It’s refined without trying too hard.
Which is basically my favorite aesthetic.
This is a two-day luxury weekend escape designed for women who want to slow down, shop beautifully, eat well, and spend a weekend feeling like the main character in a Southern novel.

Day 1: Downtown Aiken — Equestrian Chic & Boutique Shopping
Start your morning in downtown Aiken with coffee and nowhere urgent to be. This is not a rushed kind of town. This is a linger over everything town.
Where to Shop (Fashion & Lifestyle)
Lionel Smith Ltd.
Classic Southern fashion at its finest. Think: tailored pieces, timeless silhouettes, and that effortless “I’ve always dressed like this” energy.
Equine Devine
Ralph Lauren-coded in the best possible way. Even if you don’t own a horse (most of us don’t), you will want to after this.
York Cottage Antiques
High-end antiques, estate pieces, mirrors, lamps, and furniture that feels like it belongs in a historic Southern home.
The Briar Patch Antiques
A dangerous place (financially) in the best way. Art, frames, silver, decor, and one-of-a-kind finds.

This is usually the point where I’m holding an antique mirror I absolutely cannot fit in my car and thinking:
Why do we love old things so much? Because they feel like they’ve lived a life.
And honestly… don’t we want that for ourselves too?
This is exactly the same feeling I aim to create during a Bare Elegance Boudoir session— relaxed, timeless, and completely rooted in who you already are.
Not trends. Not performance. Just you, beautifully.
Lunch: Old-Money Southern Energy
The Willcox Restaurant
This is the place. White tablecloths, historic hotel, impeccable service, and the kind of lunch that makes you sit up straighter and order wine “because it feels correct.”
The Whitney Polo Bar (inside The Willcox)
For cocktails or a light bite if you’re not ready for a full meal.
Hopelands Gardens (Non-Negotiable)
After lunch, take a walk through Hopelands Gardens.
It’s:
quiet
romantic
historic
and unbelievably beautiful
This is your:
slow walk, deep breath, “I should really romanticize my life more” moment.

Where to Stay (Saturday Night)
Luxury:
The Willcox Hotel
If you want full immersion. This is iconic Southern luxury. Historic, elegant, and absolutely worth it.
Boutique:
The Carriage House Inn
Charming, intimate, and very on-brand for a refined weekend.
Accessible But Beautiful:
The Inn at Houndslake
Comfortable, classic, and perfectly located.
This is your night to:
wear something soft
take a long bath or shower
read a book in bed
and remember that rest is also productive
Dinner: Elevated Southern Dining
Prime Steakhouse on Whiskey Road
Classic steakhouse energy, upscale, and perfect for a slow dinner.
TakoSushi Aiken
If you want something modern but still refined.

Day 2: Brunch, Antiques & A Gentle Reset
Brunch
The New Moon Café
Cozy, artsy, and perfect for a relaxed Sunday morning.
The Willcox Breakfast
If you’re staying there — do not skip it.
More Antiquing & Slow Wandering
Aiken Center for the Arts (gift shop)
Beautiful local art and gifts.
Downtown Boutiques on Laurens Street
Just wander. This is not a “hit every stop” town. It’s a “see what calls to you” town.
This is the part of the weekend where I always think:
Somewhere between antique silver and garden walks, women start remembering that they don’t actually need to become someone else.
They just need to come back to themselves.
And that is exactly the energy I want every woman in before a Bare Elegance session.

The Bare Elegance Connection
Aiken is quiet luxury.
It doesn’t shout. It doesn’t perform. It doesn’t rush.
And that’s the same philosophy behind Bare Elegance Boudoir.
Serving women throughout the Midlands & Upstate South Carolina, Bare Elegance is for the woman who wants her photos to feel timeless, elevated, and deeply personal — not trendy, not forced, not performative.
Just:
confident, grounded, and fully seen.
If You’re Planning This Weekend…
Pack:
linen or neutral outfits
ballet flats or loafers
oversized sunglasses
a silk scarf
and something soft to sleep in
Because this weekend isn’t about doing more.
It’s about remembering:
you already are enough — you just deserve to experience it.
